just finished calling home. not just home actually. all my relatives. ok not ALL.. just my grandmothers, my parents, n my parents' siblings.. which amount to quite a lot. at 12 midnight too. don't believe it took me 45 minutes to actually call to say happy new yr. peak hours.. everyone's calling at this time too. oh well. it's quite a relief having it settled.

aniwae i joined the gym today. i think it's time i try and get fit b4 my heart starts failing prematurely. do u noe that ur heart can just DIE OFF if u dun exercise?? yeah.. that lecture kinda scared me. so himara brought me to the gym today. for the first time.

and it's funny how fate works. or how God works. i was wearing my rj t-shirt.. cos i dun have anything to wear.. and was collecting my matric card from the reception when this chinese woman (who was with her daughter) came over n asked me if i was from singapore.

i was like, "no. i'm from indonesia."
"i saw your shirt you see.. (etc etc).."
"oh i studied in singapore.."

and she asked me if i could speak chinese.. (i was wondering why on earth she asked tt.. cos indonesians can't speak chinese??) so i said i could. and she started talking in chinese. (she was from china b4 she migrated)

and den she started asking me how i found glasgow. turned out tt her daughter is going for an interview tmr. she wants to study medicine here. so of cos i started selling glasgow haha. but i really meant everything i said.. abt how i liked the course. (thinking abt my ou xiang of course. haha.)

aniwae we were talking for quite a while.. and all the time in chinese. omg.. i uncovered some hidden potential within me. she could actually understand.

didn't find out tt much abt her (and less abt her daughter.. who wasn't talking) but they probably found out a lot abt me. she was just firing qns at me.

and she asked if she could see my room.. just to see what the rooms are like here. so i brought her up. and they stayed for quite a while. himara n i were supposed to go for dinner at 630!! they left at 7 i think. (we met at ard 6ish). not that i minded.. they seemed nice enough.. but i felt bad for making himara wait too. haha.. she was just sitting there listening to a conversation in chinese.

the lady said she approached me cos she tot i looked nice n all (yeah right.. she approached me cos i was wearing tt rj shirt) and it needs yuan fen to actually make a new fren etc. we exchanged email add i think. yeah. she even gave me her home number.. so i could contact her in singapore if i needed anything. hmmmm.

the girl's called wu wei by the way. doesn't tt sound like meaningless - wu2 wei4? it IS pronounced wu2 wei4. quite cool if u think of ecclesiastes.. u noe.. "meaningless meaningless everything is meaningless, says the teacher"

it's an hr long conversation.. so obviously there was much more in the conversation.. but i'm sure u wouldn't want to bore urself by reading about how i described the glasgow coma scale to her (which she didn't quite understand cos my chinese isn't as advanced as that.. to be able to explain some coma scale).
